Merry Christmas and Happy Kwanzaa!!!
Kwasi Asare would like to wish everyone love, peace and joy during this holiday season and in the coming New Year. Kwasi had a good year this year, as he taught his special Kente handloom course to a regional Jack ‘n Jill group and as well was a group of middle school students in the DMC region. Kwasi is working with middle school students to teach beginning algebra using weaving as a hands-on way to understand mathematical patterns. Kente cloth is a great gift to give in this holiday season, especially for Kwanzaa – Kente is a gift that represents an authentic connection the Africa Motherland and the Ancestors. Kente cloth is Africa’s most beautiful and prized fabric – in general, Kente cloth represents ancestral heritage, dignity and divine providence. We have Kente stoles and shawls of with many different designs and symbolic meanings. Celebrate Kwanzaa and enjoy your holiday season with authentic handmade Kente cloth – you can order your Kente directly from Kwasi’s website.
Kwasi is open to doing more workshops and Kente cloth presentations and teaching events. In this coming year, Kwasi will also be doing more special workshops for teaching beginning algebra (for middle school students) through weaving using the small handloom. Kwasi’s method is a fun, innovative and creative way of learning algebra and improving math skills. Please send us an email and tell us about your school, community group or church and we can work together to create a special event or workshop for Black History Month or any time of the year!
