Hey Friends – Kwasi will be holding a special Kente weaving workshop with writer and designer Lisa Shepard-Stewart, at her Cultured Expressions studio in Rahway, New Jersey, on Sunday, May 19, 2024, from 2 pm until 6 pm. It promises to be a wonderful event!
Lisa Shepard-Stewart is an expert in African fabrics and aesthetics and she holds many interesting workshops, presentations and artistic events at her Cultured Expressions studio in New Jersey. Lisa has a profound passion for African fabrics, from mudcloth to batik to Kente, and she loves helping people find ways to add African art and aesthetics to their home decor. Lisa is the author of 3 books – African Accents: Fabrics and Crafts to Decorate Your Home, Global Expressions: Decorating with Fabrics from Around the World and African Accents on the Go! Designing Accessories with Cultural Style. In 2011 Lisa began publishing FABRIGASM, a magazine devoted to lovers of African textiles.
